About 85 Americans missing in Nepal. A State Department official said roughly 85 Americans remain unaccounted for after flash floods in Nepal and Tibet, where the death toll has passed 900 and thousands remain missing.

According to The Hill, rescue crews are now reaching hydropower tunnels that were blocked by the disaster, sites where some of the thousands of unaccounted-for people may be found. With fatalities across the Nepal-Tibet region exceeding 900 and search operations still underway, the number of confirmed victims, potentially including some of the unaccounted-for Americans, could shift as recovery efforts continue.
