President Donald Trump declared the U.S. ceasefire with Iran over and called further negotiations a "waste of time." It came after Iran attacked at least three commercial tankers in the Strait of Hormuz, plus U.S. military sites in Kuwait and Bahrain.
U.S. Central Command launched strikes on more than 80 Iranian targets in response to the tanker attacks. Iran's Revolutionary Guards then targeted the U.S. sites in Bahrain and Kuwait. Washington also revoked Iran's oil sanctions waiver. Oil prices rose more than 5%. The two countries signed the ceasefire agreement as a memorandum of understanding three weeks ago.
